Welcome to Field Literacy Lab – a program conceptualised, designed and executed by Kesari Harvoo, a National Award winning filmmaker and researcher. By accessing our website, digital archives, and pedagogical modules, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Scope of Use

Field Literacy Lab provides a specialized educational portal for Higher Education Institutions and individual learners. These terms govern the use of:

  • The Digital Field Literacy Archive (Ethnographic films, GIS data, and field notes).
  • The Pedagogical Roadmap and NCrF-aligned credit modules.
  • The FVAR (Field Value Analysis Report) reporting framework.
2. Intellectual Property Rights (The "Archive" Protection)

All content on this website, including but not limited to National Award-winning films, field recordings, metadata, and the systemic audit methodology, is the sole property of Field Literacy and its Chief Promoter.

  • Restricted License: Learners are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to view Archive materials for educational purposes only.
  • Prohibitions: You may not download, screen-record, screenshot, modify, distribute, or publicly screen any Archive content without express written consent. Any violation will result in immediate termination of access and potential legal action under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.
3. User Conduct & Field Ethics

Users of this portal (specifically during Phase 2 Immersion) agree to:

  • Respect Stakeholder Privacy: Adhere to the ethical guidelines provided regarding the identities of community stakeholders documented in the field.
  • Integrity in Reporting: Ensure that all data submitted in the FVPB reports is original and based on actual ground observations.
  • Professionalism: Represent their partner institution with the highest degree of ethics during on-ground systemic audits.
4. Institutional Obligations

Institutions partnering with Field Literacy Lab via an MOU agree that:

  • Access is restricted to the specific batch/cohort authorized by the institution.
  • The institution will assist in ensuring students adhere to the IP protections mentioned in Section 2.

5. Account Security

To access the “Curator’s Vault” and Archive:

  • You must maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • Account sharing is strictly prohibited and will trigger an automated security lockout.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties

While Field Literacy Lab provides high-fidelity ethnographic data and longitudinal research, the “Field-Sense” gained is dependent on student engagement. We do not guarantee specific academic grades, though we do provide verified “Notional Hour” logs for credit transfer.

7. Limitation of Liability

Field Literacy Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the field sites or the digital portal. Field immersion involves physical activity; participants are responsible for their own safety and must adhere to the Field Readiness Guide.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our portal immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms, particularly regarding the unauthorized distribution of Archive materials.
